After graduating from John H. Reagan High School in 1995 he attended Harvard University in Cambridge, MA. At Harvard Erik majored in Environmental Science and Public Policy, lettered as an Offensive Lineman on the Varsity football team and was a member of the undefeated Ivy League Championship team of 1997. After graduation from Harvard in 1999, Erik worked for 2 years in Boston, MA as a consultant for The PFM Group, a nationally recognized advisory firm for issuers of Municipal (Tax-Free) Bonds.

Erik was active in Church activities his entire life including campus ministry at Harvard where he began to first feel a call to ministry. He left Boston in 2001 for Luther Seminary, St. Paul, MN. He served as Intern Pastor at St. John United Lutheran Church-Seattle, WA from 2003-2004, graduated from Luther Seminary with a Master of Divinity Degree in 2005 and was ordained as a pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in American on August 28, 2005. He served as Pastor of Dr. Martin Luther Church (Oconomowoc, WI) from 2005-2010. In 2004 he was married to the Rev. Kendra Mohn, an ordained ELCA pastor.

Currently Erik is the Lead Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church (Fort Worth, TX) where Kendra also serves as Teaching Pastor while she pursues PhD studies in New Testament at Brite Divinity School (Texas Christian University). Kendra and Erik have a daughter Annika and a cat Hyde and reside in the Foster Park neighborhood of Fort Worth.

MohnRev. Kendra Mohn is a farm girl from Cherokee, Iowa, the eldest daughter of Jim and Connie Mohn. She and her sister Alicia grew up doing 4-H projects, helping out on the farm, working at the local radio station, and taking music lessons. She graduated from Washington High School in Cherokee in 1995. After high school, Kendra attended Luther College in Decorah, IA, majoring in Music Performance (Cello), and Communication/Linguistics, and graduating in 1999 (Bachelor of Arts). While at Luther, she was section leader in the Symphony Orchestra and sang in Collegiate Chorale.

After Luther, Kendra attended the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, PA, where she studied Historical Musicology (music history), focusing on gender in music. While at Pitt, she was active in Lutheran Campus Ministry of Greater Pittsburgh; while she had been active in churches throughout her life, it was in this community of faith that she began to discern a call to ministry. After graduating from Pitt in 2001 (Master of Arts), she moved to St. Paul where she attended Luther Seminary.

In 2003-04, Pastor Mohn did her pastoral internship in the Pacific Northwest at Messiah Lutheran Church in Auburn, WA, a suburb between Seattle and Tacoma. In 2005, she graduated from Luther Seminary (Master of Divinity) and was assigned to the Greater Milwaukee Synod of the ELCA along with her husband, Rev. Erik Gronberg. Kendra began ministry at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Wauwatosa, WI in September 2005, and was ordained on October 1st of that year. She served as Mt. Zion’s Associate Pastor for four years, and then led Mt. Zion as their Senior Pastor after her colleague’s retirement in 2009.
