Frequently Asked Questions for Visitors

Learn about Trinity's History

What is the schedule of worship services?
The Sunday schedule consists of two services, beginning at 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. There are no regular Wednesday evening services, except during the seasons of Advent and Lent. Those Wednesday evening services begin at 7:00 p.m. During the season of Lent, the congregation hosts an ecumenical preaching series of services from Ash Wednesday through the Wednesday of Holy Week.

Where are your facilities located?
The facilities are located at 3621 Tulsa Way, on the west edge of the Cultural District in Fort Worth, just south of the intersection of Camp Bowie and Montgomery.  Access to the building is by steps and a ramp that leads to the courtyard. See the orange map link to the left.

What Synod are you?
Trinity Lutheran Church is a member congregation of the Northern Texas-Northern Louisiana (NTNL) Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).

Do you have weekly Eucharist?
Trinity Lutheran Church celebrates weekly Eucharist with every Sunday morning service, both the 8:00 and the 10:30 a.m. services.

Are you traditionally liturgical in your worship style?
There is strong history of traditional Lutheran worship at Trinity Lutheran Church. However, that does not mean that the same liturgy for the Eucharist is used every week. Rather, there is a regular weekly rotation of Eucharistic liturgies, including some recently-produced liturgies with the same traditional format, but modern (contemporary) wording.

What kinds of music ministries and opportunities do you offer?
The worship life of the congregation is greatly enhanced by a strong music ministry at Trinity. There is an adult vocal choir that provides a weekly anthem during the school year, a bell choir, one choir of African marimbas (custom made in Santa Fe, NM), as well as an Orff choir for children, and occasional guest and member instrumentalists.

What kinds of educational ministry do you provide?
A full range of educational ministry to people of all ages from 2 through senior citizens is available. Sunday School begins at 9:15 a.m. each Sunday between the two worship services. Men and women are invited to the Fellowship Prayer Breakfasts at 7:00 a.m. on the first and third Thursdays of each month during the school year. Women may take advantage of one of the women’s circles, offering small group Bible study and Christian growth opportunities. Small group Bible study is available through the Christ Care groups for adults. The Bethel Series, consisting of an overview of the Scriptures over a two-year period through week-night classes for adults at two levels of intensity, is available during the school year. Youth Sunday School  classes and Youth Group experiences for youth in the 7th grade through High School offer opportunities for Bible study and Christian growth.

What kinds of help do you provide for parents?
Periodic classes in “Parenting with Love and Logic” are offered for parents of the congregation as well as parents of enrolled children in Trinity Lutheran Children’s Center.

What kinds of help do you provide for Senior citizens?  A wide range of services and ministry for senior citizens are provided by the congregation through its Eldercare program: Lifeline, regular contact with seniors particularly if they have no immediate family living in the community, consultative services for individuals and families seeking alternatives for living when it is no longer possible to live alone in one’s own home, support for and from the Area Agency on Aging. The sermons on Sunday are printed in large print and are available in the narthex each week.
